Tenjin is a Shinto deity commonly associated with learning, scholarship, and the arts, based on the deified form of Sugawara no Michizane, a famous scholar and poet from the Heian period. The term “” (aka), meaning “red,” could refer to a specific portrayal or a variation of Tenjin depicted in red garments or with a reddish hue, which might symbolize protection, vitality, or auspiciousness in this context.
